Our laboratory

The test laboratory is part of OFFICINE SANTAFEDE S.R.L. but it operates with total impartiality and independence.

The desire to know deeply about the production processes and metallurgical characteristics of our products led to the opening of an internal test laboratory in 1997.

In parallel with the growth of OFFICINE SANTAFEDE, the laboratory activities have been expanded and modernised, and in this developing process the laboratory obtained in 2018 the accreditation n. 1688 L according to the UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard

Today the laboratory performs all tests in accordance with national and international reference standards (UNI, EN, ISO, ASTM):

Mechanical Tests
Tensile Test, up to 200 KN
Impact Test Resilience, room temperature to -196°C, with two impact testing machines Charpy capacity 450J (ISO and ASTM)
Hardness Test, available three hardness testing machines for Brinell, Vickers, and Rockwell hardness test

Metallographic and Macrographic Analysis
Microscopic examination, through optical microscope with magnifications up to 1000X and instruments for metallographic preparation
Macrographic examination, with a stereoscope and high-resolution lenses

Corrosion Tests
Intergranular and pitting corrosion test according to ASTM G28-A262-G48-A923 e ISO 3651-2 standards, through plate heaters and thermostatic baths

Simulated heat treatments
SPWHT and heat treatments for internal analysis, through an electric furnace

To maintain accreditation, the laboratory undertakes to implement a quality management system in compliance with the reference standard UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025 and the prescriptive documents of the accreditation body (ACCREDIA) and to perform internal tests and calibrations according to the chosen methods.
